Treasurer's Financial Report 2021

The treasurer's report for the financial year 2021, presented at the Annual General Meeting of the Martham Local History Group. It covers the Group's bank balance, membership receipts, and the year's programme of talks, visits and events.

Financial Report – 2021

Chris Harrison, Treasurer

Another year passes with restrictions in place due to Covid. Over the last twelve months the amount held in the History Group's bank account has decreased to £2888.39. This takes into account the fact that we have only had only three talks again this past year, due entirely to the Covid-19 restrictions that have been imposed on us as a Group. All talks were performed using Zoom, and out thanks go out to the speakers for ably agreeing to conduct their talks this way. Subscription receipts have been received from 12 members with total receipts amounting to £120.00; in addition. We have one payment outstanding in respect of the Secretaries expenses, and this will be reflected in next year's statement. The uncleared cheque in respect of a subscription to Zoom for 2020 has been included in this year's statement, along with the renewal for 2021/22. It was agreed by the committee to renew Zoom so that we can carry on having meetings while current restrictions apply and also conduct committee meetings.

The annual membership subscription allows all members free entry to our monthly meetings, and it is hoped that future talks will be held once again in the Methodist Chapel. Subscriptions for 2022 will be required and these can be paid any time from the AGM onwards until the end of February 2022. Members who have not paid their annual membership subscription for 2022 will not be allowed to attend future meetings free of charge.

Once again thank you to those Members who renewed their membership and also to the new members who joined us in 2021. Let us hope that 2022 will bring a return to some form of normality again.
