Financial Report – 2020

Chris Harrison, Treasurer

Well, what a difference a year makes. Over the last twelve months the amount held in the History Group's bank account has increased slightly to £3578.74. This takes into account the fact that we have had only three talks this past year, due entirely to the Covid-19 restrictions that have been imposed on us as a Group. Subscription receipts have been received from 72 members with total receipts amounting to £720.00; in addition, income from non-member receipts & donations totalled £117.30. We have one refund still due from GYBC in respect of the cancelled Great Yarmouth walk that should have taken place in August, and also an uncleared cheque in respect of subscription to Zoom for 12 months. This is so that the committee and Archive Group can carry on having meetings while current restrictions apply. These outstanding items will be accounted for in next year's annual statement.

As with previous years the annual subscription allows all members free entry to our monthly meetings, and it is encouraging to note that average attendances were still achieving over 40 people until lockdown occurred. The committee has considered that as a result of the limited events for this year, all further talks, including the AGM having been cancelled until 2021, the subscriptions received should be carried over for a further twelve months until 31 December 2021. Members who have not paid their annual membership subscription for 2020 will still have to pay the £10.00 subscription to enable them to attend future meetings free of charge.

Once again thank you to all Members who renewed their membership and supported our brief number of events this year, let us hope that 2021 will bring a return to some form of normality again.
