Treasurer's Financial Report 2014

The treasurer's report for the financial year 2014, presented at the Annual General Meeting of the Martham Local History Group. It covers the Group's bank balance, membership receipts, and the year's programme of talks, visits and events.

Financial Report – 2014

Chris Harrison, Treasurer

We have had another good year for Martham Local History Group and the latest closing figure for the bank account received on 03 August 2014, was £2148.46. This is an increase of £723.41 on the previous year. This sum includes subscription receipts from 51 members totalling £510.00, and income from raffles held over the year totalling £47.74 after deduction of prizes awarded.

A successful number of events were held over the last twelve months of which more details are given in the President's & Chairman's reports.

The annual coach trip to the Houses of Parliament in London this year was very well supported and I would like to place on record my thanks to your Chairman and Secretary for all the hard work they carried out in ensuring that the day was a complete success. I would just like to remind members that future outings by coach will only be continued subject to sufficient support from Members due to the rising cost of coach hire.

During this year a couple of small items of equipment have been purchased for use by MLHG. The sound equipment now has a useful carrying case to transport it around and some new batteries were also bought. I would also like to take this opportunity to mention that, since the annual statement was produced, a laptop computer & carrying bag have been purchased for use by the History Group at a cost of £333.00. This completes the foreseeable major equipment purchases for MLHG.

The subscription to the Local History Magazine taken out last year has not been continued due to irregular issues of the magazine and what we considered was poor content and value for money.

Annual subscriptions for Members remain unchanged at £10.00 and will be due by the end of December this year, and anybody not renewing by the last day of February 2015 will be removed from the Membership. Renewals can be paid from today, as can any new membership request, and will benefit in being valid until 31 December 2015.

Once again thank you to all Members who renew their membership and support our events throughout the year, without you the History Group would not exist.
